Jackson has always been our little collector. When he was younger he would load up the stroller with all of his treasures. He also would confiscate all of my plastic shopping bags when we would get home from the grocery store. He would fill them up with all of his favorite things and store them in his room. There would be bags and bags and bags in his room full of his stuff. When Lucy was born, she bought Jackson a Diego backpack. Those of you who know Jackson know that this backpack is always with him. When he goes to bed or naps, he takes it into his room and stores it safely behind his bed. When he wakes up in the morning, he brings it out into the living room with him. He has now accumulated two more backpacks. So there are three backpacks to move in at nap/night time and three to move out in the morning. He is constantly putting "treasures" into the backpack. It is SO full. Today I thought he and I should clean it out together. This is a picture of the contents dumped onto the kitchen floor. I was in awe. There were brochures from many of the events we have been to over the past six months, halves of toilet paper rolls, about 40 plastic bugs and figurines, markers, sticky notes, socks, two chapsticks,
and anything else he thought had value that he came across in the past few months. He would get a new toy and immediately want to go put it in his backpack. He said he was packing for Oklahoma. I don't know where this packing tendency and love has come from, but it is pretty intense. :) He is our little keeper and he is definitely a keeper.

That is a lot of stuff! Almost everyday Graham brings home a "treasure" that he found at school. It is so funny how kids can become attached to the funniest things.
Geez I miss you and your sweet kids. This is so funny! I love it!
Connor is the same way. He absolutely LOVES putting things in bags or tubs. He also loves wallets. It is funny how they start things so early!
OH MY GOSH!!! That is my Lily. Picture that huge pile of all of Jackson's most precious stuff spread over every surface of her room... bookshelves, dresser, bed, floor. It drives me CRAZY! Rocks, Littlest Pet Shop toys, Pollys, books, writing books, and every other sort of Lily treasure. So, now that I read your wistful and admiring post, I feel like a terrible mommy... because sometimes, especially at night when I am exhausted and putting her to bed, I want to take my hand and CLEAR all of that STUFF right off every surface and onto the floor in one fell swoop while screaming NO MORE STUFF! Maybe it's because she's 10 now and I think she should be over it??? Thanks for your inspiring post. I will stop being a meanie and embrace my daughter's stuff obsession. You are a sweet mommie. Love you!
